A Time to Give Thanks

At times out own light goes out and is rekindled by the spark from another person. Each of us has cause to thank with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us” - Albert Schweitzer

We have watched millions of people around the world #givethanks over the last week or so. During this week, it has made me reflect on the meaning of gratitude and how both I express it in my own life and how others around the world throughout history have given thanks for their harvests, health, safety, and family.

As we reflect, some questions we might ask ourselves: Is gratitude an emotion or an action? Are you both with it or can you create it? If you parents make you say, “thank you,” is that gratitude? Why are thank you notes valued so highly? Is gratitude contagious? Why is it considered the key to a happy life? These are just some of the many questions we could ask ourselves as we consider what it means to be grateful and how we might seek for more meaningful gratitude in our lives…

We are so grateful for the families in our community and their willing to share their treasure - your child - with us each day. We are so grateful for each of you and know that our gratitude burns bright.
