Acton Academy St. George is a learner-driven private school for Pre-K through Middle School, located in historic downtown St. George, Utah. We serve families from across Washington County, including St. George, Washington City, Santa Clara, Ivins, and Hurricane.
We're not a traditional school. We don't run on worksheets, standardized tests, or one-size-fits-all curriculum. Instead, our mixed-age studios use Socratic discussions, hands-on real-world projects, outdoor adventure, and self-paced challenges to help every Hero discover their gifts and learn to use them.
We call our students Heroes because that's what they are. Each one is on their own Hero's Journey. Our role isn't to fill them with information. It's to guide them toward the confidence, character, and real-world skills they need to change the world.

When We Couldn't Find This School in St. George, We Built It
We're Ian and Stephanie Lindsey, parents of four young children and co-founders of Acton Academy St. George.
We first discovered Acton Academy in 2009, when it was just a one-room schoolhouse in Austin, Texas. We fell in love with what we saw. An approach to learning that actually trusted children. That inspired curiosity instead of demanding compliance. That built character alongside academics.
We moved to St. George because this is home. And we made a commitment. We would only move here if we could bring Acton with us. There was nothing like it in Southern Utah. So we built it.
Today, alongside more than 300 Acton Academy owners worldwide, we're proud to be part of a school model that has been recognized as one of the most important education developments in the world. Acton Academy St. George serves Heroes from age 3 to 14 across four mixed-age studios. Each studio is designed for the specific developmental stage of your child, building the independence, skills, and character they need to thrive at the next level.

But don’t worry—we aren’t expecting a family dance routine (though that would be fun!). This 'audition' is as much about us proving we're the right fit for you as it is about your family discovering if we align with your values.
Our unique audition process guides you through the beliefs and commitments we uphold as an Acton community. You’ll explore our educational philosophy, reflect on your own beliefs, and read a book, preparing you for the promises we ask of each Acton family.
While we may ask more of you in this process than other schools, we believe it’s a fulfilling journey that helps you find the right fit. Along the way, we hope it brings you closer as a family. Whether you choose us or another path, we’re here to help you find what’s best for your child.

- Complete our Initial Application Form – sharing your family’s goals and values
- Schedule a “Audition” day(s) for your child – so they can experience firsthand the unique environment of an Acton Studio
Welcome Decision
WITHIN A WEEK OF YOUR AUDITION BEING COMPLETE, WE'LL NOTIFY YOU OF THE DECISION
Once you’ve completed the application steps, we’ll provide an admissions decision, typically within a week. If your family is welcomed into Acton Academy St. George, official enrollment is completed with the annual registration fee and signed enrollment documents. We’re excited to have you join our community and look forward to supporting your child’s journey of growth, discovery, and independence.
