Our self-paced, mixed-age studios use Socratic discussions, hands-on projects, outdoor adventure play, and gamified challenges to cultivate critical thinking, personal agency, a strong community, and a lifelong love of learning, equipping young people for the demands and opportunities of the 21st century.

Even before becoming parents, we knew we wanted the best possible education for our children—a school that would honor their individuality, foster a strong sense of agency, and build their character while giving them the freedom to learn from challenges.
When we couldn't find that school in St. George, UT, we started it.
Today, alongside 300+ other Acton Academy owners, we’re proud to be part of a school model that brings our vision to life and resonates deeply with the values of Southern Utah families. We’d love to show you how Acton Academy can make a difference for your child.

Finding the right school for your family is a big decision, and each school has its own approach. At Acton Academy St. George, we call our application process an 'audition.' But don’t worry—we aren’t expecting a family dance routine (though that would be fun!). This 'audition' is as much about us proving we're the right fit for you as it is about your family discovering if we align with your values.
Our unique audition process guides you through the beliefs and commitments we uphold as an Acton community. You’ll explore our educational philosophy, reflect on your own beliefs, and read a book, preparing you for the promises we ask of each Acton family.
While we may ask more of you in this process than other schools, we believe it’s a fulfilling journey that helps you find the right fit. Along the way, we hope it brings you closer as a family. Whether you choose us or another path, we’re here to help you find what’s best for your child.

Reflect & Apply
RESEARCH AND SUBMIT YOUR FAMILY AUDITION
After your tour, if everyone agrees that Acton Academy St. George is the right fit for your family, you’ll be invited to begin our formal application process. This step includes a few important actions to help us all ensure a meaningful match:
- Read Courage to Grow by Laura Sandefer – to understand the philosophy that guides our community
- Complete our Initial Application Form – sharing your family’s goals and values
- Schedule a “Audition” day(s) for your child – so they can experience firsthand the unique environment of an Acton Studio
Welcome Decision
WITHIN A WEEK OF YOUR AUDITION BEING COMPLETE, WE'LL NOTIFY YOU OF THE DECISION
Once you’ve completed the application steps, we’ll provide an admissions decision, typically within a week. If your family is welcomed into Acton Academy St. George, official enrollment is completed with the annual registration fee and signed enrollment documents. We’re excited to have you join our community and look forward to supporting your child’s journey of growth, discovery, and independence.
